During his time at the University of Waterloo, Yogi had the unique opportunity to participate in Velocity, a startup incubator. This experience exposed him to the transformative power of technology across various sectors, yet he noticed a gap in addressing societal issues. Driven by a desire to make a difference, Yogi aimed to disrupt the financial sector for underserved communities by leveraging his family's brick-and-mortar remittance stores. Initially, he explored e-wallets and bitcoin/blockchain technology to reduce remittance costs but found these solutions were not yet suitable for underprivileged populations in developing countries. Consequently, Yogi and his co-founders developed a digital remittance company that significantly increased efficiency and dramatically lowered fees. This venture eventually grew into RemitBee, a comprehensive fintech platform that provides FX, remittance solutions and more for individuals and businesses around the world!
